The SSD in question is Samsung's 980 Pro SSD, which is currently the fastest consumer SSD available in the market. It is a top-tier offering that boasts high-speed data transfer and impressive performance. Yet, a closer examination reveals a discrepancy in its endurance rating across various countries.

An endurance rating in SSD terms refers to the total amount of data that can be written on the drive before it starts to fail. It is typically measured in Terabytes Written (TBW) and is a crucial factor for consumers who frequently write large amounts of data onto their drives.

Upon investigating Samsung's official product specification sheets for the 980 Pro SSD, it has been noticed that the TBW rating varies widely across different regions. For instance, in the United States, the 1TB version of the SSD has a TBW rating of 600, while in Australia and the United Kingdom, the same SSD model has a TBW rating of 300.
