Chip Design Legend Jim Keller Joins Tenstorrent, Aims to Capture Markets Not Well-Served by NVIDIA

Jim Keller, the legendary chip designer, has joined Tenstorrent, an AI hardware start-up, in an effort to capture markets under-served by powerhouse NVIDIA. His arrival at Tenstorrent is expected to bring a wealth of experience and innovative ideas that could revolutionize the AI market.

Keller, who has previously worked at tech giants like Apple, Tesla, AMD, Intel, and most recently, NVIDIA, is lauded as one of the most respected and successful chip engineers in the industry. His portfolio boasts the design of high-performing chips such as Apple's A4 and A5 chips, AMD's Zen architecture, and Tesla's custom AI chips.

Tenstorrent's unique selling point lies in its new approach to AI hardware. The start-up's product, Grayskull, is a processor specifically designed for machine learning tasks.
