Microsoft's July Update Patches 117 Vulnerabilities, Including 13 Critical Zero-Day Exploits

Microsoft has recently rolled out its monthly security updates for July, addressing a total of 117 vulnerabilities across multiple products. The patches fix several issues, including 13 zero-day exploits that present potential threats to millions of users.

One of the most notable vulnerabilities addressed in this update is the Windows Kernel Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability (CVE-2021-31979), which allows an attacker to run arbitrary code in kernel mode. This gives the hacker the ability to install programs, view, change or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.

Another critical zero-day vulnerability patched in this update is the Windows MSHTML Platform Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (CVE-2021-33742). This flaw could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on a target system if a user views specially crafted web content.
