Meta Suspends AI Use in Brazil Following Regulatory Concerns

This move comes in response to an order from the country's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). The ANPD issued the order to Meta after conducting an investigation into their use of AI, particularly in relation to facial recognition. The authority expressed concerns that Meta's AI tools could infringe on the data protection rights of Brazilians. The ANPD further suggested that the technology's use potentially violated the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD).
