Microsoft has announced that its AI-powered workplace app, Microsoft Places, will be generally available by the end of 2024. The app is designed to modernize the way employees connect and optimize space management by intelligently coordinating with coworkers to make the most of in-office days.
In preparation for the general availability of Microsoft Places, the company is providing an overview of its licensing options. Customers with a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription will have access to core Places features. These include setting up and updating work plans, viewing collaborators’ work plans, accessing peek card experiences in the new calendar, scheduling in-person meetings, managing hybrid RSVPs, and workplace presence-related capabilities.
For those with a Teams Premium license, additional features will be available. These include Places finder, intelligent suggestions, Places explorer, team guidance, space analytics, and autorelease policies.
The SKUs for Places core features include Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, and Microsoft 365 or Office 365 E1, E3, E5, F1, F3. For other Teams-specific features in Places core, the SKUs include Microsoft Teams Essentials, Enterprise, and EEA. For Places enhanced, the SKU is Microsoft Teams Premium Introductory Pricing.
Microsoft encourages partners and customers to learn about Microsoft Places and the value it delivers for flexible work. They can participate in the public preview and begin conversations with their IT Admin, relevant business decision-makers, and leadership teams to understand how they're implementing hybrid work policies and managing occupancy and utilization challenges today.
