In a significant move aimed at enhancing customer flexibility, we have successfully eliminated the dependency of Volunteer Management (VM) and Volunteer Engagement (VE) on the Fundraising and Engagement SKU. This change, effective from November 20, 2024, impacts all partners transacting VE/VM on the Fundraising and Engagement SKU.
The removal of this dependency means that customers no longer need to purchase the Fundraising and Engagement license to deploy VE and VM. Instead, they can now do so with just a Dynamics 365 or Power Apps license. This change is expected to streamline operations and reduce costs for customers, making the deployment of VE and VM more accessible and affordable.
The process of removing this dependency involved making the applications "free" in AppSource. This means that only Dynamics and Power Apps license checks are performed during the Solution Center setup, further simplifying the process for customers.
For existing customers, it's important to note that this change will not impact their current operations. No action is required on their part in relation to this change. They can continue to use the services as they have been without any disruptions.
For new customers, this change opens up new opportunities. VE/VM is now available for all Power Apps and Dynamics customers in the Solution Center. This means that more organizations can now leverage these powerful tools to manage and engage their volunteers more effectively.
In conclusion, the removal of the Fundraising and Engagement SKU dependency for Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement is a significant step forward. It not only provides greater flexibility for customers but also makes these applications more accessible to a wider audience. We look forward to seeing how our customers will leverage this change to drive their volunteer management and engagement efforts.
