At Qloud Blog, we are always excited to share the latest updates and developments in the world of cloud computing. Today, we bring you news from Microsoft, one of the leading cloud service providers. Microsoft has recently announced a significant update for its Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. This update pertains to the Azure savings plans and how they can be transferred between CSP partners within the Partner Center.
The Azure savings plan for compute was initially introduced to customers and partners in October 2022. At the time of its launch, the Azure savings plan was only accessible to CSP partners through the Azure portal. However, on June 15, 2023, Microsoft expanded its availability to the Partner Center.
As of September 14, 2023, Microsoft has further enhanced the functionality of the Azure savings plan. CSP partners now have the ability to transfer these savings plans to other CSP partners directly from within the Partner Center. This feature is generally available for those in Admin Agent roles.
This new feature is a significant step forward, as it allows for greater flexibility and ease of use for CSP partners. It simplifies the process of managing Azure savings plans, making it easier for partners to maximize their savings and optimize their use of Azure services.
To help partners adopt this change, Microsoft is offering several resources. CSP partners are encouraged to sign up for the CSP Technical Training in September and join the CSP Partner Q&A Community Call. These platforms provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about this new feature and how to make the most of it.
Additionally, partners can review the 'Transfer Azure subscriptions or reservations under an Azure plan to another CSP partner - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn' guide. This resource provides detailed instructions on how to transfer Azure subscriptions or reservations under an Azure plan to another CSP partner.
Microsoft has also updated the 'Azure savings plan for compute collection' and 'Partner Launch Calendar' on the Operations Readiness gallery. These resources provide updated assets and information on the Azure savings plan for compute in the Partner Center.
At Qloud Blog, we believe this update from Microsoft is a positive move that will greatly benefit CSP partners. It not only simplifies the management of Azure savings plans but also promotes collaboration and flexibility among partners. We look forward to seeing how CSP partners leverage this new feature to enhance their cloud computing capabilities.
