In a recent announcement, Microsoft has revealed that the Online Services Usage – Microsoft 365 (M365) program page will be retired effective October 2023. This change is part of the company's ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance its services. The retirement of the M365 program page is set to coincide with the launch of the new Earnings workspace and the integration of the Online Services Usage – M365 program into Microsoft commerce incentives.
The new Earnings workspace is expected to bring a host of benefits to partners enrolled in the Modern work usage engagements. These benefits include an Earnings page that provides insights into earnings and payments. Partners will have the ability to filter earnings by Solution Area, such as Modern Work and Security, and by partner association, such as Use or Consume.
The Earnings page will also offer a view of the top 50 customer-specific earning and payment views, with the ability to search for any customer. It will provide a breakdown of earnings and payments by engagements and levers. Furthermore, all reconciliation attributes will be viewable in the Earnings: Default download, including monthly active users (MAU), paid available units (PAU), high watermark (HWM), workload, and Claiming partner of record (CPOR) claim ID.
In addition to the Earnings page, the new workspace will feature a Revenue page. This page will provide insights into why certain usage became eligible versus ineligible. It will display the top 50 customers with the highest usage, including eligible MAU, ineligible MAU, and earnings. Users will be able to view usage records that became eligible or ineligible, with the ability to search for customers by ID or customer name.
Microsoft has also provided some additional details for awareness. Historical earnings and payment data can be downloaded from the Earnings page for the Online Services Usage – M365 program using the Earnings – Default and Payment reports. The pages in general show data worth three years at any point.
However, the daily usage views, recommendations, and opportunities specific to Modern Work that were available on the Online services usage – M365 page will no longer be supported. Earnings for the month of October 2023 with new program year rules will be available through the end of November 2023 under Microsoft commerce incentives.
To learn more about the Earnings workspace, Microsoft directs users to the Earnings pages in the Partner Center.
