Microsoft Adjusts Timeline for CSP Public Sector Offers Launch and Migration Based on Partner Feedback

In July, Microsoft made a significant announcement regarding the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) legacy Public Sector offers for Government Community Cloud, education, and nonprofit. Originally, these offers were set to be available in CSP new commerce in November 2023. However, Microsoft has recently updated this timeline based on feedback from partners.

Many partners expressed concerns about the challenges of implementing system changes towards the end of the calendar year. Acknowledging these concerns, Microsoft has decided to adjust the timeline to better accommodate the needs of its partners.

As per the revised schedule, Microsoft will now launch the CSP public sector offers in the new commerce system starting from January 1, 2024. This change in the timeline is designed to provide partners with ample time to adjust to the new system.

Furthermore, Microsoft has also updated the timeline for the migration of public sector offers. The Microsoft-led migration will now commence from July 1, 2024. This six-month window between the launch of the new commerce system and the start of the migration process is expected to provide partners with sufficient time to familiarize themselves with the new system and prepare for the migration.

Microsoft has assured its partners that it will share the full launch and migration plan in mid-November 2023. This will provide partners with a comprehensive understanding of the process and what to expect during the transition.

In the meantime, Microsoft has encouraged its partners to familiarize themselves with the available migration resources. Additional information regarding the migration process will also be shared in mid-November.

This update reflects Microsoft's commitment to its partners and its willingness to adapt its plans based on their feedback. The revised timeline is expected to facilitate a smoother transition to the new commerce system for all CSP Direct Bill and Indirect Resellers, as well as Indirect Providers.
