In the ever-evolving world of cloud computing, Microsoft continues to make strides in enhancing the user experience for its partners. In the past year, Microsoft has introduced several new features to its Partner Center, allowing partners to have more control over their Azure subscriptions.
In November 2022, Microsoft announced that the Partner Center now allows Global admins with Admin agent roles to cancel Azure subscriptions directly from the Partner Center portal. This was a significant step in giving partners more control over their customer Azure subscriptions, especially in the event of compromise or abuse.
Following this, in December 2022, Microsoft further expanded this capability by enabling partners to use APIs to cancel an Azure subscription. This feature allows partners to shut down any suspicious activity discovered in their Azure plan subscriptions directly from the Partner Center, providing an additional layer of security and control.
Continuing with their commitment to enhancing business continuity, Microsoft has now released a new feature that allows partners to reactivate Azure subscriptions. This feature is available both from the Partner Center portal and the API. Once a customer has successfully addressed the issue that led to the cancellation of their Azure subscription, partners can now reactivate the subscription. Once reactivated, these subscriptions show up as active Azure subscriptions.
This new feature is a significant step towards ensuring business continuity and providing partners with more control over their Azure subscriptions. It allows partners to quickly and efficiently address issues, evict threat actors from compromised tenants, and restore normal operations.
To take advantage of this new feature, partners are encouraged to review the Azure management documentation. This includes information on managing subscriptions and resources, cancelling an Azure subscription, Azure spending, getting an Azure entitlement for a subscription, and reactivating an Azure subscription.
As we continue to navigate the world of cloud computing, it's clear that Microsoft is committed to providing its partners with the tools and resources they need to manage their Azure subscriptions effectively. This latest feature is just one more way that Microsoft is helping its partners maintain control and ensure business continuity.
