Microsoft Announces General Availability of New Reports NCE Page for Enhanced Billing Experience

We at Qloud Blog are thrilled to share Microsoft's latest announcement regarding the upcoming general availability (GA) of their new Reports (NCE) page. This new feature, currently in Beta, is set to be launched on November 1, 2023, and will be accessible via the Billing workspace.

The new commerce report download page is designed to provide a convenient platform for all global partners who are billed for new commerce products. This page will allow users to download current and previous invoices, as well as billing reconciliation files for new commerce programs. The downloads will be triggered from the Billing overview page and can be retrieved on the Reports (NCE) page.

This new development is expected to significantly enhance the user experience. The Reports (NCE) page will offer improved functionality for downloading invoices, reconciliations, and Azure Credit Offer balance files. Once the page becomes GA, all new commerce downloads will be available on this page, and the existing Download file page will retire. This means that users will no longer see the Download file page in the task menu.

The new Reports (NCE) page differs from the existing Download file page in several ways. Users will need to start all reconciliation file downloads from the new Billing overview (NCE) page. The system will automatically add these downloads to the queue, and they will be visible on the Reports (NCE) page. While users will still be able to search for their downloaded reports on this page, the filter option will no longer be accessible.

The general availability of the Reports (NCE) page comes with several benefits. Users can expect improved performance and additional details for better error handling and troubleshooting. The downloaded report's name will include the invoice number for billed data or year-month in YYMM format for unbilled data, providing clarity on the billing period. The Last status update will inform users about the most recent download of the report. Additionally, the Azure Credit Offer Balance report will also be downloaded asynchronously from the new Reports (NCE) page.

As we anticipate the GA of this feature on November 28, 2023, we encourage users to prepare for a smooth transition process. Users should be informed about the change in the location of the reports downloaded. If users have bookmarked the link, they should update their bookmark with the new link once the page is GA.
