Microsoft to Launch New Billing Overview Page for Global Partners in November 2023

We at Qloud Blog are thrilled to share the news of Microsoft's upcoming release of their new Billing Overview page, which is set to be generally available (GA) from November 1, 2023. This development is expected to impact all global partners who are transacting with the new commerce products.

Currently in its Beta phase, the new commerce billing overview page is a one-stop-shop for viewing current and previous invoices, as well as billing reconciliation files for new commerce programs. It also provides a platform for partners to submit withholding tax receipts, thereby fulfilling regulatory tax and compliance requirements.

The general availability of the new page comes with a host of updates designed to enhance user experience. The existing Billing History page will now focus solely on displaying billing, invoicing, and reconciliation information specifically for the legacy program. In contrast, the new Billing Overview (NCE) page will offer a separate and improved user experience for the new commerce program. This page is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of billing activities, including advanced features and functionalities tailored specifically for the new program.

To help users understand the differences between the two pages, Microsoft has provided a detailed comparison table. This table clearly outlines the functionalities of the current Billing History page and the new Billing Overview (NCE) page, including viewing account balances, downloading invoices and reconciliation files, submitting withholding taxes, and more.

The new Billing Overview (NCE) page offers several benefits, including faster page loading times, improved performance, and more detailed information to support informed decision-making. All billed invoices and related reconciliation files are conveniently stored in one location, and reconciliation files are categorized by billing status to simplify tracking. Additionally, estimates file names are now displayed on the new page, categorized by billing month and type, for easier tracking.

The new feature is expected to be GA for all on November 28, 2023. In the meantime, Microsoft encourages users to inform their teams about the change and ensure they're aware of the necessary adaptations to find related billing information.
