In a recent announcement, Microsoft has revealed that its API now offers robust support for license and VM image version reports. This new feature is specifically designed to streamline and enhance the experience for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
As of November 7, 2023, ISVs who have offers published in the marketplace can now download the license and VM image version reports programmatically. The license report provides valuable insights around the licenses that have been assigned and provisioned. In addition, the VM image deprecation report can assist ISVs in making informed decisions about which VM images can be deprecated based on their usage.
This enhancement brings a multitude of benefits to partners. One of the most significant advantages is the automation of report generation. This feature not only saves time but also improves the quality and consistency of the data.
Moreover, partners who access reports in both the User Interface (UI) and via API will notice that the columns in the reports downloaded are the same across both platforms. This ensures a seamless transition between the two platforms, providing ISVs with a more reliable and cohesive experience.
For those interested in learning more about these new features, Microsoft has provided additional resources. For more information about the license report, you can visit the License dashboard in the commercial marketplace analytics. Similarly, for more information about the VM image version report, you can visit the Usage dashboard in the commercial marketplace analytics.
At Qloud Blog, we are excited about these new features and the potential they hold for enhancing the ISV experience. We believe that these enhancements will greatly benefit our partners by providing them with more reliable and consistent data, as well as streamlining their processes. We look forward to seeing how these new features will be utilized and the impact they will have on the ISV community.
