At Qloud Blog, we are committed to keeping our readers updated with the latest developments in the tech world. Today, we bring you an important update from Microsoft regarding the process for generating API tokens to access Commercial Marketplace Insights reports.
Microsoft has recently announced that they have aligned their API behaviors for exporting Insights reports to more closely match other Partner Center APIs. This means that users are now required to use a different resource for token generation.
This change was officially announced on February 7, 2024, and it primarily impacts ISV partners who use the Insights and APIs workspace.
Previously, users could generate tokens using the resource parameter https://graph.windows.net. However, with the recent update, Microsoft has changed the resource parameter to https://graph.microsoft.com.
It's important to note that if you continue to use the old URL (https://graph.windows.net), your tokens will cease to function after March 31, 2024. Therefore, Microsoft strongly advises users to switch to the new URL as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions in service.
Microsoft has provided further information on token generation for API calls, which can be accessed for a more detailed understanding of the changes and how to implement them.
At Qloud Blog, we understand that changes like these can sometimes be confusing and disruptive. However, we believe that this update will ultimately streamline the process for generating API tokens and bring it in line with other Partner Center APIs.
We encourage all our readers who are impacted by this change to make the necessary adjustments as soon as possible. As always, we will continue to keep you informed about any further updates or changes from Microsoft and other major tech companies.
