Microsoft Announces General Availability of Copilot for Microsoft 365 through Cloud Solution Provider Partners

We are excited to announce that Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now generally available for transaction through Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners. This significant development is part of Microsoft's ongoing commitment to provide customers of all sizes access to Copilot. In line with this, Microsoft has also removed the minimum seat purchase requirement, making it easier for customers with Office 365 E3 and E5 to purchase Copilot for Microsoft 365.

This new availability extends across all sales channels, including CSP new commerce. Commercial customers with Microsoft 365 E3/E5, Office 365 E3/E5, and Microsoft 365 Business Standard/Business Premium prerequisite base SKUs can now purchase the Copilot for Microsoft 365 add-on SKU across all sales channels. These include CSP, EA, MCA-E, EAS, and direct from Microsoft online.

Education customers with Microsoft 365 A3/A5 and Office 365 A3/A5 can make their purchases through Enrollment for Education Solutions. The removal of the minimum seat purchase requirement for Copilot for Microsoft 365 applies across all channels and segments. However, customers must have a product license of one of the prerequisite base SKUs for each seat of Copilot for Microsoft 365 they purchase.

To help customers get AI ready, Office 365 E3 and E5 licenses now include Semantic Index for Copilot. This feature is critical to getting relevant, actionable responses to prompts in Microsoft 365 Copilot. For full Copilot for Microsoft 365 SKU information, CSP partners can view the updated price list or refer to the Copilot for Microsoft 365 Product/SKU ID for full details.

This development presents a major opportunity for partners to help every customer, regardless of their size, become an AI-powered organization. We encourage partners to use the resources provided to start defining their strategy and operationalizing their sales engine today.

Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer and Corporate Vice President, Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft, has shared a blog post on this milestone announcement. It includes customer prerequisites and ways to get started with Copilot. Microsoft will also be hosting a Copilot for Microsoft 365 CSP Acceleration Moment on January 18, where Microsoft leaders will share more about the Copilot for Microsoft 365 partner opportunity and what comes next.
