In an effort to streamline and standardize pricing, Microsoft has announced that it will cease to publish the legacy Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances price list as of June 1, 2024. This significant change is part of Microsoft's ongoing commitment to simplifying invoice reconciliation for its partners.
The new commerce Azure plan reservations price list will now be the go-to source for Azure reserved instances pricing. This list will be readily available in the Partner Center and Azure portal, making it easier for partners to access the information they need.
This change is set to impact Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs) who use the Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances price list for commercial and shared services. From June 1, 2024, the pricing for legacy Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances will be incorporated into the new commerce Azure plan reservations price lists.
One of the key benefits of this change is that reservations invoices will now be based on USD prices, which will greatly simplify invoice reconciliation for partners. For those who require prices in currencies other than USD, Microsoft has made provisions. A foreign exchange rates file can be downloaded from the price lists workspace in the Partner Center.
Microsoft has also assured partners that the standard historical price lists for legacy Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances will remain available until November 1, 2024. This gives partners ample time to transition to the new pricing structure.
