In a recent announcement, Microsoft has highlighted an issue that may affect Cloud Solution Provider partners, including indirect providers and direct bill, across all markets, countries, and regions. The issue pertains to the New Commercial Experience (NCE) license-based price list preview, which may display false positives in countries or regions where there are no Forex trading (FX) rate changes.
Starting from March 1, 2024, the NCE license-based preview price list for the Japanese Yen (JPY) is expected to show the products that will change price in April due to the FX rate change. This is a standard procedure and is expected to occur. However, the same products are also showing up as false positives on the price list preview of the countries or regions that aren't affected by the FX rate changes. This is not supposed to happen and is considered a glitch in the system.
Microsoft has not yet provided a reason for these false positives, but it is likely due to an error in the system's algorithm that identifies and applies FX rate changes to the price list. This error may cause the system to incorrectly flag products in countries or regions not affected by FX rate changes as having a price change.
This issue does not affect the actual prices of the products, but it may cause confusion among partners who rely on the NCE license-based price list preview to anticipate price changes. Partners in countries or regions not affected by FX rate changes may incorrectly anticipate a price change due to the false positives.
Microsoft is likely aware of this issue and is expected to take corrective action to resolve it. In the meantime, partners are advised to be aware of this issue and to take it into consideration when reviewing the NCE license-based price list preview.
As always, we at Qloud Blog will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. We understand the importance of accurate pricing information for our partners and will strive to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information possible.
