Microsoft to Cease Publishing Legacy Azure Reserved Instances Price List Streamlining Pricing and Enhancing User Experience

In an effort to streamline pricing and simplify invoice reconciliation, Microsoft has announced that it will cease publishing the legacy Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances price list as of June 1, 2024. This significant change is part of Microsoft's ongoing commitment to enhance user experience and provide more standardized pricing structures.

Cloud Solution Providers (CSPs) who have been using the Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances price list for commercial and shared services will be impacted by this change. However, Microsoft has ensured that partners can continue to access Azure reserved instances pricing through the new commerce Azure plan reservations price list. This new list will be readily available in both the Partner Center and Azure portal.

One of the key benefits of this change is that it will simplify invoice reconciliation for partners. This is because the reservations invoices will now be based on USD prices. For partners who require prices in any other currency, Microsoft has provided a solution. They can download the foreign exchange rates file which is available in the price lists workspace in the Partner Center.

It's worth noting that the standard historical price lists for legacy Microsoft Azure Reserved Instances will remain available until November 1, 2024. This gives partners ample time to transition to the new pricing structure.
