In a recent announcement, Microsoft has expanded its multiparty private offer (MPO) to the United Kingdom and Canada markets. This move allows independent software vendors (ISVs) and channel partners to collaborate and transact custom solutions with customers in these regions, in addition to the already supported United States market.
MPOs are a powerful tool that empowers partners to sell collaboratively. Customers can negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing via their channel partner, simplifying the purchasing process through the marketplace. For customers with an Azure cloud consumption commitment, the entire purchase counts towards their commitment when they buy solutions that are Azure IP co-sell eligible.
The MPO was first launched in the United States market in July 2023. With this expansion, channel partners enrolled in the Commercial marketplace with a tax profile location in the United Kingdom can now join their peers in the United States. This collaboration with global ISVs allows them to sell to customers in the three supported markets: the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Microsoft has provided resources to help partners understand and leverage this expansion. For ISVs, there are resources such as the Multiparty private offers (for ISVs) guide and MPO FAQs. Video tutorials are also available on YouTube, including "Multiparty private offers: ISV partner creates one for their channel partner" and "Multiparty private offers: Customer accepts and purchases a private offer."
Channel partners also have resources at their disposal. They can review a video on how they can extend their customer relationships to the Microsoft commercial marketplace via multiparty private offers. A downloadable PDF, the Channel partner onboarding guide for MPO, is also available. Video tutorials for channel partners include "Multiparty private offers: Channel partner configures one for their customer," "Multiparty private offers: Customer accepts and purchases a private offer," "Set up a commercial marketplace tax profile in Partner Center," and "Set up a commercial marketplace payment profile in Partner Center."
This expansion of MPO to the United Kingdom and Canada markets is a significant step in Microsoft's ongoing efforts to facilitate global collaboration and transaction of custom solutions. It provides an excellent opportunity for ISVs and channel partners to extend their reach and offer their customers more flexibility and convenience.
