At Qloud Blog, we are thrilled to share the exciting news about Microsoft's latest update to their Partner Center. Microsoft has announced a refreshed user experience for managing customer subscriptions, specifically for new commerce license-based (online service) subscriptions. This update, which was released on July 26, 2024, is designed to streamline operations and enhance usability for all global CSP partners.
One of the key features of this update is the transition to an intuitive right panel experience for upgrades. This allows for a seamless side-by-side comparison of existing settings with available upgrade options, making it easier for partners to make informed decisions about their subscriptions.
In addition to this, Microsoft has made significant performance enhancements to the Partner Center. These include faster page loading times and a more responsive user interface, which will undoubtedly improve the overall user experience.
Microsoft has also made enhancements to the management of term duration and billing frequency. These changes aim to provide a clearer and more user-friendly experience for partners. This is a welcome change that will make managing subscriptions more straightforward and less time-consuming.
To ensure partners are fully aware of the implications of their actions, Microsoft has introduced new cautionary prompts. These alerts will appear when users submit mid-term changes, warning them of potential consequences. For example, a prompt might warn that changing the term or billing plan of a subscription could result in the loss of a promotion if the new plan or term isn't eligible.
These changes are now available in both sandbox and production. To view the changes, partners can navigate to the Manage subscriptions page in the Partner Center, select a customer from the list, and then select a subscription name under Online services.
As next steps, we recommend all partners to review the Partner Center documentation on managing customer subscriptions and managing term duration and billing frequency. This will provide a comprehensive understanding of the new features and how to make the most of them.
At Qloud Blog, we are excited about these improvements and look forward to seeing how they enhance our partners' experience with managing customer subscriptions. We believe that these changes, along with Microsoft's ongoing commitment to improving the Partner Center, will greatly benefit all global CSP partners.
