Webhook events have now been made available for partner to partner transfers, enhancing partner audit records to include new events. This development was announced on August 16, 2024, and is applicable to the workspace of customers. The impacted audience includes Cloud Solution Providers (CSP) direct-bill partners and indirect providers.
The partner center now boasts webhook support for partner to partner transfers. The webhook APIs enable partners to register for resource change events. These events are subsequently delivered as HTTP POSTs to the partner's registered URL. Partners can now receive webhook notifications for created, updated (submitted), completed, and failed transfers. The introduction of webhook events allows partners to operationalize transfer solutions more easily and track new transfers sent to them. Furthermore, the webhook events can be utilized to track status changes for transfers after their creation and submission by the source partner.
In addition to this, the activity logs have been enhanced to ensure that transfer creation and updates events are available to both target and source partners. Prior to these enhancements, only the target partner could view created transfer activity entries and only source partners could view updated events. Now, both target and source partners can audit these activity events for created, updated (submitted), completed, and failed transfers. The activity data is accessible in the partner center's partner accounts and is also API enabled.
Partners are encouraged to review how transfers work for license-based new commerce and Azure plan items. They can also review the webhooks documentation and webhook events topics to gain a better understanding of the new features. Additionally, partners can review the activity log documentation to understand how to track transactions made to their customers and other actions. Lastly, partners can learn more about partner center APIs to retrieve audit records and audit events. This will help them to better manage and monitor their transactions and activities.
