In a bid to enhance customer experience and security, we have updated our commercial marketplace certification policies for Software as a Service (SaaS) offer types. This update, which will take effect from September 1, 2024, is targeted at Microsoft publishers with transactable SaaS offers in the marketplace.

The primary focus of this update is the implementation of new standards for SaaS offer landing pages in the commercial marketplace. These standards are designed to ensure that all SaaS transactions are conducted through user-friendly, secure, and compliant interfaces.

The key policy updates include:

1. Availability and Functionality: Under the new policy, landing pages must be consistently accessible. Clear error messages should be provided when needed to guide users.

2. Configuration Guidance: The updated policy stipulates that landing pages should provide necessary setup information without displaying sensitive customer data. This is to ensure the privacy and security of customer information.

3. Content Compliance: All content on the landing pages must adhere to our inappropriate content policy and Microsoft Trademark and Brand Guidelines. This is to ensure that the content is appropriate and does not infringe on any trademarks or brands.

4. No Downloads: The new policy prohibits landing pages from prompting installations or downloads. This is to ensure a seamless user experience.
